Jay-Teens

SPONSOR: Lon Fox and Jared Smith
Available to: 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th graders
Season: Year Round
Jay teens are an organization that selects community service activities and attend several events.

AMS Service Organizations

Jayteens and Jaytweens are service organizations for students here at AMS. We work with the Alcoa/ Maryville area Jaycees. The groups participate in various fundraisers and projects throughout the school year. Students have the opportunity to work in the school store and in the concession stand during home ball games. Along with this hard work, we have a lot of fun with team building activities and social events.
Jaytweens-- 5th and 6th Graders
Most weeks we will meet on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15. Occasionally this time or day will change if we have a special project that we are working on. Jaytweens meet with Ms. Smith in room 154. If you are a 5th or 6th grader interested in joining Jaytweens, come to the first meeting on Wednesday, August 13.
Jayteens—7th and 8th Graders
These students will meet on Thursdays from 3:15-4:00.
As with Jaytweens, this time may change to work on projects and special activities. Jayteens meet with Mr. Fox in room 284. The first Jayteen meeting was on August 7. If you missed that meeting, feel free to join us on August 14.
There is a fee of $5 to join the Jayteens or Jaytweens. This money is used to cover supplies and snacks for the occasional long meeting.
