6th Grade

Sixth Grade News
Reading- Mrs. Miller's classes have been having fun with their clickers! Ask your student about them. Classes are getting ready to begin reading "The Awakening."
Science- Mr. Stephens’ classes have just finished studying the movement of the earth's crust. Next, they will learn about weather.
Math- Mrs. Prigmore’s classes just received polydrons. They are a new manipulative that is suggested by the state to help increase TCAP scores.
Language Arts- Mrs. Adderhold’s classes are starting a unit on verbs. They have also been having fun with their clickers.
Social Studies- Mrs. Spear’s classes have started studying the Fertile Crescent. They are concentrating on Mesopotamia.

Announcements

After School Tutoring
After school tutoring for students began on Monday, August 4. It will be available Monday through Thursday until 4:00. Students must have homework or skills that need improving to attend. Mrs. Martin will be working with seventh and eighth graders, Mrs. Brown with sixth graders, and Mr. Wolfe with the fifth graders. Tutoring has been successful for students who need help with homework or for those who need extra help with specific skills. Students need to take advantage of this service provided by the school.
