COVID-19 Information

For the 2022-23 school year, Alcoa City Schools will only conduct lab-based Covid testing when the CDC advises that community levels are "high".  CDC community level guidance can be found at this web address: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels.html
When community levels for Blount County are recognized as "high", school nurses will only test staff and students who are exhibiting symptoms with a fever of 100.4 or greater.  Home test kits will be made available to staff and students, based on availability, for those times in which community levels are not "high" or for staff or students who are exhibiting symptoms with a body temperature less than 100.4.

Effective May 19th, 2022
The district has ended Covid testing for the 21-22 school year. We will not be conducting any Covid testing for staff or students during our 2022 Summer Learning Camps.  Please consult with your personal physician if you become symptomatic and wish to be tested.  The district may resume testing, in a more limited fashion, during the 22-23 school year. More details will be provided as we return to school in July 2022.
Thank you.
Effective December 2021:
School nursing staff are now prohibited from providing return to school, isolation, or quarantine guidance. Staff and students impacted by Covid 19 should contact their personal physician or health department for updated guidance.  Thank you.
