About Me
I am a native of East Tennessee who joined the Alcoa City School System in July of 2016 as the Director of Career and Technical Education. I have worked in career and technical education for nearly three decades. I have served as a classroom CTE teacher, state-level CORE consultant, district CTE facilitator, and now as a CTE Director. My passion is helping young people achieve their career goals or find their way to rewarding postsecondary opportunities.
In addition to serving as the CTE Director, my knowledge of EDGAR and federal grants management led me to also assume the role of district Federal Programs Director. In this role, I work with the Title IA, Title II, and Title IV programs.
In addition, I love writing grants to support our students and staff. This year, our district is the proud recipient of a Perkins Reserve Grant, Arconic Foundation Grant, and TDOT Aeronautics grant. Pursuing additional funding sources, in order to provide additional opportunities for students, has become a passion of mine.
In my spare time, I enjoy working on the farm with my husband. We raise a variety of cattle, including American Highland and Dexter. I also enjoying traveling to the mountains of Wyoming and Montana where I enjoy hiking and wildlife photography.
