Staff Profile
I have been blessed to work in the field of education for the past 46 years. 23 of those years as a middle school teacher and 23 years in the central office now known as the Educator Support Center. I have a wonderful supportive wife, 3 awesome kids, and 6 amazing grandkids.
I am a 1972 graduate of Alcoa High SchoolI. I have a BS in Accounting from UT Martin, an MS in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Tennessee, and an EDS in Administration and Supervision from LMU. After graduating from UT Martin, I worked for a CPA firm in Knoxville as an auditor for 18 months. It was while auditing schools and talking to school administrators and teachers, that I made the decision to go back to school and pursue a career in education. The educators I interacted with really did enjoy what they were doing whereas I really did not enjoy the daily grind of auditing. The decision to enter the field of public education led me to this meaningful, ever-changing, adventure that I have never regretted.
I love coming to work each day and love the opportunity to work with amazing people. Alcoa City Schools is a special place with awesome staff and awesome students at all levels. Go Tornadoes!
