The Alcoa City Schools Foundation is an independently operated non-profit organization established to assist the Alcoa City Schools system in improving the quality of education. The foundation provides the means for you to invest in today's youth, tomorrow's leaders, and the future of our community. By contributing, you will be a part of our continuing effort to achieve excellence in our schools by helping to fund projects and activities that would not be possible within the normal school budget. Donations are tax-deductible.
GRANTS IN ACTION:
Thanks to the generosity of the Alcoa community, the foundation financed over $79,000 of projects during the Spring and Fall Grant Sessions of 2022!
Thanks to the generosity of the Alcoa community, the foundation financed over $79,000 of projects during the Spring and Fall Grant Sessions of 2022!
Projects submitted had goals ranging from enhancing basic reading skills to helping students become proficient with interdisciplinary project-based learning, integrating literacy, technology, science, math, engineering, and collaborative speaking, and listening skills.
The foundation is excited to contribute to OBB (One Book Blitz) - This community-wide literacy initiative gives students in kindergarten through 5th grade (in Alcoa as well as other schools in Blount County) an opportunity to read, study, draw, sing, and become totally absorbed in the same delightful book.
The foundation was also given the opportunity to contribute to our Arts programs by replacing some of the aging instruments used in the music programs in the school system.
Through these projects, the funds you donate are used to enrich the educational experience of all students in the AlcoaCity School System. The cumulative effect of the additional resources these projects provide as our students advance through their education in the Alcoa City School System is immeasurable!
