About Me:
A dedicated member of the Alcoa City Schools family since 2006, I have tried to consistently demonstrate a deep commitment to the students and staff of the district. Beginning in the role of a part time school nutrition employee, I embraced the opportunity to serve the Alcoa community. In July 2016, I proudly accepted the position of School Nutrition Director, bringing leadership and a focus on providing the very best for Alcoa's students. Continuing to grow and contribute, July 1, 2023 marked the addition of Payroll Coordinator responsibilities to my multifaceted role.
Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, I have also completed an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management degree while diligently guiding and supporting the School Nutrition staff. I consider Alcoa City Schools a true blessing and am grateful to be part of a hard-working family dedicated to the success and well-being of every student.
Responsibilities:
School Nutrition Director:
- Oversees all aspects of the district's food service program.
- Manages procurement processes, including placing and managing food and non-food bids.
- Responsible for financial management, including tracking profit and loss, managing accounts payable, and setting up vendor accounts.
- Approves menus and ensures adherence to nutritional standards.
- Administers student nutrition programs, including processing free and reduced meal applications and managing direct certification.
- Supervises food service staff, including hiring and management.
- Files reimbursement claims for breakfast, lunch, and afterschool snacks.
Payroll Coordinator:
- Ensures accurate and timely payroll processing for all district employees.
- Manages employee time sheets and Kronos hours.
- Collaborates with the Director of Finance to verify the accuracy of employee pay rates.
- Coordinates supplemental pay, working closely with athletic directors.
- Manages employee benefits and deductions, including retiree insurance payments and payments for health, dental, and vision plans.
- Coordinates payroll-related activities with the City of Alcoa (COA).
