Special Education Services

We are glad to be back on campus, in person for the 21-22 school year.  All students should be receiving IEP services as outlined in their current IEP.  If a student were to require isolation due to illness, the case manager should be notified by the parent (or student, if appropriate) to determine the best plan of support during the student’s extended absence.

Below are some examples of support during an extended absence:

Direct Academics:

  • Digital instruction delivered by virtual meeting, recorded video, live lessons, or web-based instructional programming
  • Special education teacher/staff daily scheduled instructional support
  • Paper-based instruction – teacher prepared printed materials
  • Online programming with performance monitoring, overseen by special education teacher/staff
  • Virtual or scheduled in-person progress monitoring sessions (to determine progress or regression in academic areas)

Inclusion Services in General Education Setting for Academic Support:

  • Special education teacher/staff daily scheduled instructional support
  • Special education teacher/staff and general education teacher collaborate to modify activities and ensure accommodations are followed as outlined in the IEP
